Grimtastic Girls, by Joan Hulob and Suzanne Collins, is an ongoing series about fairy tale characters with a middle-school twist. Each book is based off a new, or past character. In the first three books of the series, the story follows the three friends, Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, and Snow White. The story begins with Cinderella. When she gets off on the wrong foot at her first week at Grimm Academy, her older step sisters try to take advantage of the new prince at school, Cinderella is relieved to find Red Riding Hood and Snow White who can show her the ropes. When they find out about a villainous act that the step sisters are participating in, only a glass slipper and the magic of friendship can stop them.

Grimtastic Girls, is an amazing series for kids in 2nd grade and above. This book is great for beginning readers. The story is catching, clever, and magical. With the current 8-book series, the Grimtastic Girls, is outstanding and will keep you on page with the first word. For 2nd or 3rd graders above, these books are perfect to hook kids on to reading for later on.
